DoorLinq Property Management – Terms of Use
Last updated: 11 June 2025
Acceptance of These Terms
By accessing www.doorlinq.ca or any related site (collectively, the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
Changes to the Terms
We may update the Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced by posting the revised Terms and updating the “last-updated” date above. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
Eligibility & Age Restrictions
You must be (a) the age of majority in your province/territory or (b) at least 13 years old and have a parent/guardian’s consent to use non-transactional parts of the Site. By making any purchase or signing up for paid services, you represent that you are legally able to enter into contracts in Ontario.
Privacy & Personal Data
Our collection and use of personal information is governed by the DoorLinq Privacy Policy.
Commercial Electronic Messages (CASL)
We send commercial emails and SMS only with express or implied consent under CASL. Every message includes DoorLinq’s contact details and a functional unsubscribe mechanism.
Accessibility (AODA)
DoorLinq is committed to meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1 AA) required by Ontario Regulation 191/11. If you have trouble accessing content, contact info@doorlinq.ca so we can provide it in an accessible format.
Intellectual-Property Rights
All text, graphics, photographs, logos, video, and code on the Site are copyright © DoorLinq Property Management Inc. 2014-2025 or its licensors. You receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive licence to view content for personal, non-commercial use. Any other use—republication, scraping, framing, reverse-engineering—is prohibited without prior written permission.
User Accounts & Security
You are responsible for safeguarding log-in credentials and for all activity on your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms.
Acceptable Use & Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Upload or transmit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or infringes another’s rights.
- Introduce malware or otherwise interfere with Site security or functionality.
- Use bots, scrapers, or other automated means without our written consent.
- Impersonate DoorLinq staff or misrepresent your affiliation.
- Violate applicable law, including the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 when posting rental information.
Third-Party Links & Services
The Site may contain links to third-party sites. DoorLinq is not responsible for third-party content or privacy practices. Transactions with third parties—including payment processors (e.g., Stripe, PayPal)—are solely between you and that provider.
Products, Services, Pricing & Refunds
Prices are in Canadian dollars unless stated otherwise and include HST only where indicated. We may correct errors or cancel orders at any time. Refund policies for paid services (e.g., tenant placement, online courses) are stated at the point of purchase; Ontario consumers retain any statutory cancellation rights under the Consumer Protection Act (Ontario).
Disclaimer of Warranties
Except for warranties that cannot legally be excluded (including those implied under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act and Sale of Goods Act), the Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DoorLinq, its directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site. Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to CAD $100 or the amount you paid to us in the past 12 months, whichever is greater. This cap does not limit liability for gross negligence, fraud, or wilful misconduct.
Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless DoorLinq from any third-party claim or demand (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access without notice if we believe you violated these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g., Intellectual Property, Limitation of Liability) will continue after termination.
Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ottawa, Ontario, except where legislation (e.g., the Landlord and Tenant Board or Small Claims Court) grants exclusive jurisdiction elsewhere.
Dispute Resolution (Optional Mediation)
Before starting litigation, the parties will try to resolve disputes in good faith and may agree to voluntary mediation in Ottawa. This clause does not limit either party’s right to seek urgent injunctive relief.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect, and the invalid portion will be interpreted to fulfil its original intent to the extent permitted by law.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any service-specific terms posted at purchase, constitute the entire agreement between you and DoorLinq regarding the Site.
