  • What kinds of properties do you manage?

    From single-family homes right up to 10-unit (and larger) multi-family buildings—including duplexes, triplexes and four-plexes—DoorLinq has the systems and experience to keep them running smoothly.

  • Which areas do you serve?

    We manage rentals across Ottawa, Gatineau and the Ottawa Valley, reaching communities such as Arnprior, Renfrew, Carleton Place and Stittsville—so you’re covered whether your unit is downtown or in a neighbouring town.

  • Will you list and lease my unit for me?

    Yes. Every full-service management plan includes end-to-end leasing: multi-platform advertising, showings, best-in-class tenant screening and electronic lease signing. Landlords who only need tenant placement can choose that à-la-carte service as well. 

  • What exactly does “property management” cover?

    Think of us as your rental’s COO. We handle rent collection, day-to-day tenant communications, coordinate emergency response, preventive maintenance scheduling, capital-project coordination, financial reporting and compliance with Ontario’s Residential Tenancies Act—so you don’t have to. 

  • What makes your tenant screening different?

    We use a secure, AI-enabled platform for identity verification, credit, income and background checks that meet Canadian data-residency laws. Incomplete applications aren’t accepted—period—so you end up with qualified, low-risk residents. 

  • Can I hire DoorLinq just for tenant placement?

    Absolutely. If you prefer to self-manage after the keys are handed over, choose our Tenant Placement service. You still benefit from the same rigorous marketing and screening process, then take over day-to-day management once the lease is signed. 

  • What’s the first step to get started?

  • Do I get the final say on who rents my unit?

    Absolutely. We shortlist the most qualified applicants and send you a concise comparison matrix (credit score, income, move-in date, references). You choose the tenant—or ask us to keep looking.

  • How do you make sure the *right* applicants are chosen?

    Every applicant completes our secure digital screening, which includes:


    • Identity verification
    • Full credit report & score
    • Employment and income confirmation
    • Landlord reference checks
    • National criminal and landlord-tenant board search

    Only those who meet all criteria progress to your review.

  • Do I have to sign up for full property management as well?

    No. Tenant Placement is a stand-alone, one-time service. Once the lease is signed and the move-in inspection completed, management duties revert to you—unless you decide you’d like ongoing help.

  • Do you handle the entire leasing process?

    Yes. We take care of:


    1. Multi-channel advertising (DoorLinq site, Rentals.ca, Facebook Marketplace, etc.)
    2. Coordinated showings (in-person & virtual)
    3. Application screening and reference calls
    4. Ontario Standard Lease preparation & electronic signing
    5. First-month rent collection
    6. Move-in inspection report
    7. Optional cleaning service

    You receive a tidy hand-off package—including the signed lease, inspection report, and tenant contact details.

  • How long does it usually take to secure a tenant?

    Average time on market for well-priced Ottawa rentals is 10–14 days. Niche properties or premium rents can take longer; we’ll give you a pricing and timing estimate up front.

  • What does Tenant Placement cost?

    Our fee is half month’s rent + a flat admin fee ($0 admin if DoorLinq already manages the unit), payable from the first rent received. No marketing mark-ups or hidden charges—ever.
